Avian photography couldn’t get better than this! Known to be one of the best hotspots for birdwatching, the Port Aransas Birding center provides a great location for sighting a variety of migratory and resident bird species.
Like most of the birding centers, this center also is best visited during the day time when the natural light allows you to witness some of the most beautiful and attractive bird species in the world. To facilitate easy photography of these birds, a boardwalk and a sidewalk adjacent to a lawn have been created. The boardwalk is specially designed so that one can easily photograph the birds while they are in the marsh or in the water, like the egrets, herons, waterfowls, widgeon, coots, whistling ducks, redheads, pelicans etc.
Along with the birds, the birding center is also home to two critters – the nutria and the alligators, both of which are very easily sighted with their young ones.
Only when one has visited the center does one realize why locals and tourists alike like it so much and frequent it often. The sight of the birds in their natural surroundings sleeping, bathing, chirping, feeding is something which we don’t get to see everyday! |
