Every day, hundreds of tourists can be seen at the seawall to view the famous Selena’s statue.
Its one of the most visited and most talked about tourist attraction in Corpus Christi.
Selena Quintanilla was a famous and recognised Tejano singer who resided in Corpus Christi. She was almost at the verge of getting global attention and on her way out to stardom, when in a horrific incident, she was shot dead by a former fan club member, Yolanda Saldivar. She was hardly 23 years old.
In large numbers, fans/tourists visit Corpus Christi to view the famous Mirador del Flor, which
comprises of the statue of Selena, a salon and a boutique, which Selena started and the same is being managed by her sister now. Also you may find here the famous museum and Q Productions Inc. the recording Studio, owned by her father, where most of her songs were recorded; Days Inn, the place where she was shot; and her famous gravesite situated at the seaside memorial park.
Other places which are of interest to her fans/tourists is her house 709, Bloomington and the hotel where she was killed - Days Inn. Many visitors from Mexico come here frequently to visit and pay their homage. |
